We offer some of the best elk hunts you can find in the west, our area consistently produces bulls in the 280 to 340 class range. With a 350 to 400 class potential. GGS believes that bigger is not always better, so we offer a personal 1 on 1 guide service to make sure that every client has the best hunt possible. Your physical ability along with shooting skills will be the key to your success. The unit we operate in ranges from 6000 feet to 11000 feet  with a wide variety of cover from thick pinon juniper and open meadows  in the lower country,  to tall pine and aspen in the high country. Our guides are second to none when it comes to knowing the country that the elk inhabit. New Mexico has two ways you can get a elk tag, one is through the draw system where non residents are guaranteed  10% of the elk tags if you apply with a outfitter. Rifle Elk Hunts

Our rifle elk hunts take place after all the rutting action is over for the most part. You will still find some bulls with cows, but bugling action is almost over. This is still a great hunt for those of us who like to test some long range shooting. Spot and stalk is the method of tactic used on most of the rifle elk hunts. GGS offers three great elk hunts for rifle.   GGS has a passion for elk hunting, not only do we guide for elk, but we hunt them as well. Our guides are second to none when it comes to knowing elk and their habits. If you are lucky enough to draw a elk tag, or you purchase a guaranteed landowner tag. We are #1 when it comes to elk hunting. Give us a call and let’s make dreams become a reality.

Archery Elk Hunts

Our archery  elk hunts take place during the pre-rut and rut periods, so bugling bulls in your face is what makes the archery hunts the most popular hunt. Shots from 5 yards to 60 yards are a norm. The most common asked question is which elk hunt is the best the first or the second season. The first season takes place during the pre-rut where the herd bulls are still feeding and starting to look for cows, so this can be very good for calling in the herd bulls. The second season is during the rut so this is when the herd bulls are with the cows and it can be very good also, bulls of all different class and size are trying to fight for there own herd . They are all very good hunts. GGS offers three archery elk hunts  September 1-6, September 9-14, and September 19-24.
